On 1st Sept, the lecture training program of ”Big Data Applications in Smart Cities” was co-organized by GDD and SSGKC, which held at the Luogang Conference Centre. As an integral part of the year’s “inbound training” series, nearly 200 people have attended the lecture training program, including officials from the GDD departments (including the review and approval bureau, the administrative approval bureau, the technical innovation bureau, the construction bureau, and the SSGKC Development and Construction Office) and Huangpu District departments, and representatives from research Organizations on smart cities. Huang Biao, Director of the Organization Department of Huangpu District, Li Xuejun, Deputy Director of the Personnel Bureau of the Guangzhou Development District Working Committee of the Communist Party of China, and ANG Boon Peng, Director of Strategic Cooperation of SSGKC also attended the lecture.
The lecture featured the combination of e-government and administrative approval reform, as well as Singapore’s experience in using big data in smart government and collaborated approval. Mr. Chen Qingping and Mr. Ding Lei, smart city consultants from Singapore’s Ecquaria, were invited to deliver speeches on “Development, Planning and Trends of Smart Government in Singapore”; Mr. Li Wenyuan, smart city expert from NCS, was invited to share experience in “open government data and trans-department data sharing and collaboration for smart cities”.
On that afternoon and on the next day, the lecturers communicated with leaders and representatives of GDD departments on the latest e-government trends in China and abroad and on Singapore’s common problems in integrating government services. Also, they gave useful advice on GDD’s big data application and administrative approval reform, benefiting the Chinese audience a lot.
