The Inaugural China Ready Programme met with great success

2017.05.08

The inaugural China Ready Program, run by the Centre of Excellence for Software Transfer (CEST), a unit under Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co. Ltd (SSGKC), has officially ended on 21 Oct 2017.

China Ready Programme is an initiative held by SSGKC in collaboration with IE Singapore. The programme aims to provide practical learning to develop market understanding, navigate through complex business environment and accelerate access in South China.

This year's participants are senior management personnel of their respective companies. Each company specializes in their own unique field, including automation, biomedicine, sanitation, IT, F&B as well as consultancy.

To enable Singapore companies to better understand the business environment in China,  CEST and Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) Nanyang Centre for Public Administration jointly developed this course. This programme not only includes in-depth theory lessons about the Chinese economy, but also provides participants with an opportunity to immerse themselves in China’s business environments through visits to local sites, such as SSGKC, Guangzhou Development District, China State-owned Enterprises, Singapore companies in the Guangdong province, government agencies for the promotion of innovation, entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property protection. After these visits and various sessions with business veterans and mentors, participants gained a clearer picture on how to invest and enter the China market.

Through the 13-days program, the participants had established important network connections, and vital business opportunities for their venture into China. Among the participants, two Singapore enterprises are already processing their registration in SSGKC.
