The Centre of Excellence for Software Transfer (CEST) is an important international base for knowledge transfer and a platform for bilateral communication between China and Singapore. CEST shoulders the mission of carrying forward the fine cultures and knowledge between China and Singapore. As an outstanding transnational and cross-cultural strategic communication platform and a highly recognized hub with intellectual resources of both countries.

Creating an Eco Environment in GKC - Sharing by Local and Foreign Experts

The Seminar: Creating an Eco Environment in Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (GKC) was held in Luogang International Conference Centre on 19 June 2013. It was co-organised by the Organization Department of Guangzhou Development District (GDD), GDD Science and Information Technology Bureau, INDEX: Design to Improve Life® and co-sponsored by Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co., Ltd, GKC Collaboration Office, Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster, Gehl Architects, Ramboll, and GDD Industrial Design Cluster.

Mr. Neelabh Singh, Head of Strategic Projects, Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster, Dr. Hanne Tine Ring Hansen, Chief Consultant of Building Design, Ramboll, Mr. Kristian Skovbakke Villadsen, Associate, Gehl Architects and Dr. Zhou Zhiming from Hydraer Co. were the guest speakers for the seminar.  They shared their wealth of knowledge and experiences in Renewable Energy, Green Building Standards, Waste and Water Management, Green Surroundings, Mobility and Urban Design Strategy etc. with the participants.

About 90 participants from the GDD and GKC Co. participated in the seminar, and they were inspired by the impressive sharing by the speakers. Many found the experiences useful in the development of GKC into an Eco City. On 20 June, the four speakers held a half day discussion with GKC officials and staff on 'How to create an Eco city in the Guangzhou Knowledge City'.
